Work smarter, not harder

Roald Kvam 2023

It’s easy to say. It is not easy to do.

It is still tempting to think that the number of hours you work equal success – the more you work, the more success you get….

Yes, hard work is useful for many things, and action changes things.

I agree.

But be proactive: Think before you act. And avoid simply reacting to the urgent needs of the moment. Because then the hours run and drive you into a lot of hard work that is not smart work.

For many, it seems like they have an invisible sign on their desk:

Don’t just sit there, do something!

Many people could benefit from a visible sign on their desk:

Don’t just do something, sit still!

Because if you don’t take the time to think, strategize and prioritize, you’re going to work much harder, without being able to enjoy the benefits of a smart job well done.
